Kyong-rye – 경례 is the Korean word for “bow”. Depending on the situation, you will hear what we bow before (the instructor, the flag, or something else).
The beginning and end of the class always start with a bow to the instructor and assistant instructors, if there are any.
Never forget to bow to your partner before starting an exercise with them, even if the instructor does not ask you to do so. Respect and good manners are essential in the practice of Taekwon-Do, regardless of the partner.
